As a Sanene child, Pirkosha traveled with her father, Marlin Strigoi, and his touring show. For as long as she can remember her father would always dress her up and walk her onstage to dance with him as a sideshow while the real dancers were changing outfits. At thirteen she would go onstage alone and do interpretive dances as her fathers musicians played for her, still as sideshows. She always noticed that the main women performers got flowers and sometimes expensive gifts from men that had been in the audience. Wanting attention of her own she began to watch the women onstage, learning every move she could from them. One night, at age nineteen, she wrote music to give to the musicians to play for her.
