Wilkie Wilkinson was the Marshal of the town of Layton Junction. He was killed by the Jojo Nidle railroad thief gang, who had captured Junior Tracy and Brighton Spotts (August 2nd, 1938). The discovery of Wilkinson's murder prompted the formation of a posse who nearly lynched the Nidle gang before they were taken into custody by Dick Tracy.
