The Advanced Generation is the second anime series of the Pokémon anime. The series started with a new main protagonist Brendan, and his adventures in his home region Hoenn. Brendan is the son of Professer Birtch of Little Root Town. Brendan was returning from watching the Silver confrince in Johto when and was helping a cubone from Team Rocket. Brendan is acompined by his old friend May, a trainer from Petalburg City who is beginning her journey. During the journey, she learned about Pokémon Contests and decided to become a top Pokémon Coordinator. Joining Ash and May on their journey is May's younger brother, Max, and Anabel, who was later revealed to be one of the Frontier Brains from Kanto in Season 4.
