La Gazzetta di Venezia was an Italian-language newspaper, published from Venice. They also published an English edition of their paper. Indiana Jones kept a copy of the front page of the English edition of the February 12, 1938 paper in his journal. The headline for this issue was "Ugly American on Rampage - Causes Heavy Damage to Medieval Library", and pictured the Library of San Barnaba. The lead article discussed the damage caused by an unknown American to the library, and a large fire beneath the library, and the subsequent damage caused in a speedboat chase.
