President Harris Moffatt III's Secretary of Alien Affairs was one of Moffatt's two most important advisers, the other being the Secretary of Defense. When the Krolp demanded access to silver and a small amount of gold deep below the surface of northeastern Utah, Moffatt met with both secretaries to decide how to proceed. After Moffatt resolved to fight the Krolp, the Secretary of Alien Affairs privately met with Moffatt. Before the arrival of the Krolp, the office of the Secretary of Alien Affairs had been called "Secretary of State".
