Kalytha was a mage who stayed behind with other mages of Mennar, sacrificing their lives in order to create the Sarcen Stone. This artifact could redirect the Ley lines of magical energy, drawing energy away from the portal through which the demons were flooding Azeroth. Kalytha and the other mages were buying time for the rest of the world to fight back. Before she died, Kalytha was charged with burying the stone at the bottom of Lake Mennar.
