About: Back attack glitch   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : dbkwik.org associated with source dataset(s)

The back attack glitch is a minor glitch in Final Fantasy VII. To perform this glitch, the player must simply press L1+R1 during a back attack as if running away. The characters will not remember which direction they were facing before and will instead face the enemy. However, in Final Fantasy VII, the player's party does not take extra damage from behind. The only thing a back attack does in this game is switch the party characters' rows, which this glitch does not affect. The effect of the glitch, therefore, is purely cosmetic.

Curiously, characters equipped with Sprint Shoes never face away from enemies.
