About: Guide: Experience Points per Hour   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : dbkwik.org associated with source dataset(s)

A measurement of party efficiency that uses the amount of time a party has been together, and the amount of Experience Points gained in that time, to project an 'average' amount of Experience Point gain over time. The calculation is fairly simple, but can be deviated from in alot of ways. For example: Paladin X is 200 Experience Points into level 57 before the party begins. After 87 minutes, he is 6839 Experience Points into level 57. His exp per hour could be calculated as such: The Experience Points Per Hour is approximately 4609. * 6600 / 1.5 = 4400 or even more simply (and most commonly)

  • A measurement of party efficiency that uses the amount of time a party has been together, and the amount of Experience Points gained in that time, to project an 'average' amount of Experience Point gain over time. The calculation is fairly simple, but can be deviated from in alot of ways. 1. * Before the party begins, note your current amount of Experience Points into your current level, and if close to a next level, how many experience points till that level. 2. * Take the time from the moment the party has been actively fighting to the current time, in minutes. 3. * Divide the amount of minutes from step one by 60, to receive the amount of hours of play time. 4. * Calculate the current amount of experience points you have accumulated in the party. 5. * Divide the amount of experience points accumulated by the party, by the amount of hours in the party from step 3. 6. * The number derived from this equation is your current EXP per hour. For example: Paladin X is 200 Experience Points into level 57 before the party begins. After 87 minutes, he is 6839 Experience Points into level 57. His exp per hour could be calculated as such: * 6839 (current exp) - 200 (exp not accumulated by party) = 6683 exp total * 87 Minutes / 60 = 1.45 hours * 6683 / 1.45 = 4608.9655....... The Experience Points Per Hour is approximately 4609. However, many people do not have access to a calculator, and therefore must use a simpler format and numbers to derive an approximate EXP per hour Paladin X in real life knows he has received approximately 6600 Experience Points in about an hour and a half. He calculates the EXP per hour in this way mentally: * 6600 / 1.5 = 4400 or even more simply (and most commonly) * 6600 / 1.5 = ~4k exp per hour. The measurement is most accurate the longer the party has been in existance in general. The recommended time to measure this is around an hour or more in the party has passed, to measure earlier in a party will likely yield a lower EXP per hour than what will actually occur, due to awkwardness that occurs often very early in a party. The measure of EXP per hour is only accurate to the time the measurement taken, and does not neccesarily guarantee the same performance; things could improve, become worse, or stay the same for this measurement at any time, for any reason.
