The Y'ghatai are a bipedal, wolflike race. They are warmblooded, but because of the radiator-spines they lose and gain heat quickly. They have 2 eyes, which have an extra set of clear eyelids under the normal eyelids to filter out excess sunlight and prevent sand from getting into their eyes. They have 4 limbs, the two arms ending in hands. Their hands have 3 fingers and 1 thumb, with non-retractable claws. The legs are powerful, allowing them to run quickly, and end in paw-like feet that spread slightly like a camel's foot to gain purchase on sand. They have pads on their hands and feet, and walk on their toes. It is known for them to occasionally switch to all fours when running, but usually only in emergencies because it gets uncomfortable fairly quickly. Their tail is used for balance when running. Their ears can move, allowing them to listen to a noise without turning their entire head. Instead of sweat glands, they have a coarse, spiny fur on their back, and outer arms & legs. These act like small radiators, diffusing heat into the air. Because heat will not radiate into already warm areas, they must rest in a cool area for awhile. The spines are usually soft, though not as soft as fur. When surprised or threatened, the Y'ghatai's radiator-spines will become stiff and sharp as a defense. Compared to an average human, they are stronger and faster.
