abstract	Salem was a member of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps during the more later years of the Viltus regime.His childhood was spent in poverty on the Imperial capital planet of Bastion. Salem's mother died while he was but a toddler and his father was the proud owner of a run-down cantina and subsequently an alcholic himself. With an uncaring father, Salem spent most of his childhood and teenage years as a juvenile. At around age seventeen, the young man was able to help bring a wanted murderer to justice by lending his assistance to a Sheriff of the Imperial Sector Rangers. As a result, Salem was offered the opportunity to join the Sector Rangers and turn his life around. He accepted. After being sent to academy and trained, Salem was assigned to a ranger detachment under the command of Captain Tyandas on Bastion. Tyandas was a particularly harsh man who enjoyed putting his rangers through a never-ending hell of discipling, schooling, and physical fitness. Unknowst to his men, Tyandas was secretly corrupt and on of the pay-role of a local gang. Through some accidental means, Salem learned of his captain's corruption. Before Salem could report this to upper-command, the captain confronted Salem. Outraged and terrified for his position, Tyandas attempted to kill Salem in order to cover his tracks. The two had a fierce brawl that ultimately left Salem as the victor. Immediately following this, Salem was offered a transfer to the Imperial Security Bureau; an offer which he accepted. Personality and appearance Salem can be summarized as sometimes gruff and antisocial. He possesses immense difficulty working with others; instead preferring to work alone. The shistavanen is also quick to anger and doesn't hesitate to use force in a confrontation. Along with that, he has a long history of challenging authority. His unwillingness to always follow orders often puts him at odds with his commanding officers. However, his resolve, knack for solving things, and fighting prowess has managed to surpass his sometimes rebellious nature. Salem possessed little interest in Imperial politics, instead only caring about doing this job. As an ISB stormtrooper, Salem took great pride in serving and protecting the community. While he is not the most patriotic imperial, he believes in justice and doing the right thing. It is to that end that Salem honorably carries out the duties of his job.
