  • Quintus Metus Falco (40 AD - 115 AD) was a famous Estrusco-Roman born Master Assassin known for killing Templar Grand Master Nero Cladius Caesar Augustus Germanicus; fifth Emperor of the Roman Empire, as well as the Templars Gaius Suetonius Paulinus and Servius Sulpicius Galba during the Year of the Four Emperors. Quintus was part of the Sicilian Brotherhood of Assassins and spent most of his early life training under his father, Caius Metus Falco, at their villa in Syracuse. He killed many Templar's in his lifetime, eventually becoming a Master Assassin after the death of his Mentor. He was also known for being one of the first ancient assassins to utilize the first archaic form of the Hidden Blade. Quintus lost his father during the Boudica Rebellion in Britain, and left his home in Syracuse to enact a quest of vengence on the Iceni Tribes for his father's death. Quintus aided the Roman General Gaius Suetonius Paulinus in defeating the Iceni rebels in the Battle of Watling Street, personally assassinating Boudica shortly afterwards during their retreat. However, he eventually learned that his father and Boudica had planned the revolt to reveal the Templar identities of Suetinus and the prefect of Legio II Augusta, Poenius Postumus. Angered with the damage his rash behavior had caused, and the knowledge that he had aided his enemies, Quintus saught out Postumus during a stormy night in which he tortured the prefect for the location of Suetonius and his garrison. After getting the information he needed, Quintus killed Postumus with the prefect's own sword. He later pursued Suetonius to his disclosed location in Londinium, but was instead led to a trap set by Postumus, of which Quintus barely escaped with his life. Quintus spent the next months aided the Iceni pockets of resistence in beating back Suetonius's plans to quell of remaining rebels, going so far as to cause the Roman Emperor Nero to relieve Suetonius of command for the conintued hostilites. Under the orders of the freedman Polyclitus, a member of the assassins stationed in the Emperor's court. It was upon his arrival that he informed Quintus of the rest of the Templar Order's identities, all cenetered around Nero, their Grand Master. For ten years, Quintus travelled over the Roman Empire to kill Nero's subordinates, putting aside his quest for vengeance on Suetonius. Aware of the assassin presence in the Empire, Nero ordered the execution of Quintus's mother after learning of his identity as the son of Caius Metus Falco from Suetonius. Angered by this, Quintus had no choice but go to Italia in order to end Nero and Suetonius once and for all. Quintus came to Rome, only to discover that it had been heavily fortified by Nero for the occassion. Using his skills in warfare, as well as insipiring speeches, Quintus managed to encourage the plebians to speak out against the tyranny of Nero and his lack for their care. Outraged, Nero ordered the Preatorian Guard to hunt down Quintus wherever he had hidden, but they refused in support of Quintus's crusade. When Quintus infiltrated the Imperial Palace, Suetonius fled as his men died to protect him, and Nero was abandoned by his second-in-command. Unable to pursue Suetonius, Quintus followed Nero to his villa in the Italian countryside, and finally assassinated him in his own courtyard. His servant Epaphroditos witnessed the act, and later buried the former Emperor after Quintus left to pursue Suetonius. It wasn't until 69 AD that Quintus located Suetonius in Cremona during the civil war which had erupted after Nero's death. Attempting to deceive the Roman Brotherhood of Assassin's Mentor, Marcus Salvius Otho, Suetonius played a ruse as a trusted general under Marcus's command to overthrow the new upstart Templar Emperor Servius Sulpicius Galba. Quintus was unable to reach Otho in time when Suetonius pulled back his troops during the Battle of Bedriacum, resulting in a decisive defeat. Quintus instead followed up on the lead of Galba's location and assassinated him at Lacus Curtius. Afterwards, Quintus returned to Bedriacum where Suetonius had joined the legions under the command of Emperor Aulus Vitellius and reform the Templar Order's domination of the Roman government. However, Quintus finally cornered Suetonius when the Vitellians attacked Bedriacum, killing him and avenging his father. Quintus managed to convince the Vilellians and the Othonions to make peace, of which they did. However, to save Vitellius from the conflict between the Assassins and the Templars, Ortho took his own life. Quintus returned to Sicily, where built a tomb for his mother and father, spending the rest of his days in peace. He rebuilt the Roman Brotherhood of Assassin's at the Syracuse Headquarters, and his knowledge was passed down to many generations after him, including the future Roman assassins Aquilus and Accepiter, who ventured to his tomb.
