Trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, on stage he has performed in over eighty amateur productions as well as appearing in several TV and film roles, television commercials and has directed several stage plays since the late 1980s. He appeared on Coronation Street in 1995 as Betting Shop owner Billy Featherstone. His most recent work has been in television commercials on behalf of "Bensons for Beds" and also portrayed Father Christmas in the "Littlewoods" 2012 Christmas advertisement.

His production of Swan Song by Vanessa Brooks won the Sheffield and District Theatre Association Drama Festival at the Library Theatre in June 2010.
