When Punx was three months old (in October), her mother Zorilla gave birth to a new litter. By then Punx was old enough to care for herself but not old enough to help out with the new pups. Tragically in Janaury 2009 Zorilla, Miles and Cody, Punx's older half brother, died of a disease which was beginning to emerge within Commandos. The last of the Whiskers' males, Panthro, became the new dominant male. Punx wasn't old enough to take dominance after her mother so her older half-sister Celidh did so, albeit it was a vain attempt to maintain life in the gang as the disease which first took Zorilla, Miles and Cody failed to wane. Panthro died of disease in April 2009, and with the absence of a dominant male, three wild males joined the group. In June 2009 Celidh, Cho and Rastas died, leaving no adult females in the group and the only collared meerkat dead. Because of this, the Commandos were lost. It is unknown what happen to Punx, however several of the members were marked with disease, therefore making Punx's chances of survival slim. Punx was considered Last Seen in June 2009, two months shy of her first birthday.
