OOB is an acronym for Out Of The Box. OOB means that you build a model kit using only the parts in the box, and no aftermarket parts. In competition, the OOB category may also require that the model is painted using a colour scheme specified in the instructions, or painted to match the box art. Naturally, most whiffers doe not indulge in building OOB, and Whifflosophers argue that, like the Real World, it is simply an illusion caused by an underactive imagination.
