The Life's Blood of a Hero was a maho spell devised by Daidoji Dajan and Asako Nakiro. Through the sacrifice of eight people and the sacrifice of a hero, they expected to allow a powerful gaki, the Shimushigaki, to enter the mortal realm. In 1125 they conducted the ritual, being Dajan the "hero" who died, and Nakiro was the corporeal form which Shimushigaki used to enter Ningen-do.
