A digital recorder is a piece of audio recording technology used to dictate notes. When Richard Woolsey inquired as to why Ronon Dex had never given him a mission report, Ronon mentioned he was not good at writing, so Woolsey gave him a digital recorder to record his mission reports. Ronon's first report was as such: "Mission report: Michael invaded Atlantis, tried to blow it up, we stopped him. End of report." (SGA: "The Prodigal")
