The New Order of the Sith Lords was formed from the remains of the Order Secret Sith on Kashyyyk in 17 BBY. The older Order was a secret order started by Darth Venom in 19 BBY on Coruscant when he took on an apprentice. The older order was a lesser order than the dominate order, the Order of the Sith Lords, and planned to overthrow the old order and replace it as the new dominate order. But when the Sith Lord was slain by his master and in his second life, the order of the secret Sith fell to Darth Caluges, Venom’s apprentice. Caluges did not learn of the death of his master at the time, as he was on Coruscant on a secret hangar, in his pod which would launch at his master’s command. After Venom’s death, Vader was sent to find his Jedi Mentor.

After Venom’s death, Vader was sent to find his Jedi Mentor. Vader was sent to exile Venom’s apprentice to the Outer Rim and farther. Vader learned the whereabouts of Caluges. He sent Caluges to the outer rim in exile hoping he would die. But the pod accidentally crashed on Kashyyyk and Caluges killed all the Wookiees in the area, spending his days in exile. In 17 BBY, Caluges found a Jedi in the jungle. He asked him the location of the Dark Lord, to which the Jedi replied “Darth Vader.” Caluges killed the Jedi and declared himself the Dark Lord of the Sith, establishing a new order. He identified Kashyyyk as the capital of the New Order of the Sith Lords and declared that one day, he would arise as overlord and destroy the Sith to bring the full glory of the dark side to the galaxy in his new empire.
