Since the establishment of Israel in 1948, and the subsequent transfer of sole custodianship of the tomb to the Druze community by the Israeli authorities, Sunni Muslims have largely ceased their pilgrimages to Nabi Shu'ayb. The Druze continue to make an annual pilgrimage there every April between the 25th and the 28th.
