The Reverend Bevill Allen (1853-21 February 1929) was a Congregational minister and local politician in the Tooting area. The son of Thomas Allen of Ealing, he received his ministerial training at Hackney College, becoming assistant pastor in Mile End New Town, later taking charge of chapels in Kilburn, then Tonbridge Chapel King's Cross followed by York Road, Lambeth. In April 1893 he became pastor of the Defoe Chapel, Tooting. He became a member of Wandsworth Borough Council and subsequently was elected to the London County Council, representing Wandsworth, Balham and Tooting from 1919-22.
