Sonia Peters was a casualty of the 1967 train crash in Coronation Street, when a train travelling over the viaduct derailed and crashed into the Street. Sonia was buried in the rubble and was dead when found by David Barlow. Her death was ruled as an accident. Sonia had attended Bessie Street School with Lucille Hewitt and was the girlfriend of PC Jimmie Conway. Her grandmother Elli Jane Peters, came to the scene of the crash to hear any news concerning Sonia and was beside herself when she was informed that Sonia was dead.
