Hunter struggled in his season opener, starting last (36th) and finishing 33rd at Bristol. But Hunter still had Maryville, qualifying on the pole for June event. After a 12th place finish in that race, Hunter followed that up with a career-best 3rd place run in the July Maryville race, just running one lap off the pace.
