| - Trent Williams, better known as Timer, sat aboard the public bus with a heavy scowl across his blue eyes. Not because he was sitting next to a stinking bum but because earlier at a briefing for the upcoming Front Lines mission, Alexander McGarath, the mission manager, had declared Andrew Beckett, or Scope, the official team leader. This was a position Timer had long awaited for, but it turned out his wait lay in vain because of this fool of a teammate, Scope. The way he had swindled his position from him, just because he had a higher IQ... even thinking about his apparent friend made his rage grow intensely. Scope, on the other hand, was on the brink of an explosive laughing fit; Rapid, the weapons expert of the team, was motion sick and had collapsed on the floor. To make matters worse, Scope also tried to make things better by singing a stupid tune to himself - quite loudly. "I'm a buzzing bee, buzz buzz buzz..." Scope grinned, pushing his messy brown hair out of his eyes. It was then that Timer snapped. He lunged at Scope only to slip over Rapid and be caught in Shade's arms. Shade was the fourth member of them team. Usually he was sarcastic "Have a little gay urge did we sweetheart?" Shade mocked. Timer coughed and fell back in his chair with a look of pure hatred etched upon his face. Shade glared back at him, causing Timer to look away. Scope was still singing when the windows suddenly burst inwards, showering the people inside with shards of glass. "Oh, crap!" yelled Timer, but his voice was drowned out by the deafening noise from the explosion. A second bomb went off moments after the first, blasting the battered bus with a shockwave with such force it tipped onto its side, narrowly missing a nearby car. A wall of smoke and heat enveloped the immobilized vehicle, causing the terrified passengers inside to choke and splutter. Rapid unleashed a stream of puke as everyone in the bus lurched forward apart from Shade, who clung easily to the railing looking calmly at his watch. While everyone else was still clinging to the torn seats in shock, Timer, Scope, Rapid and Shade stepped forward and out of the bus. "Thanks for the ride, sir. A bit bumpy though," remarked Rapid to the unconscious elderly driver. Scope's eyes glittered as he surveyed the carnage. The explosions had apparently come from what used to be a hotel, which now lay in ruin. The adjacent buildings had also been badly damaged by the detonation, and most of them were partially destroyed and in flames. Timer quickly checked to make sure the bus and car were not leaking gas. Luckily, neither of the wrecked vehicles were. As the others dealt with the situation, Shade's keen gaze spotted a shadow lurking in a nearby alleyway - the silhouette of a man dressed in all black. Before anyone could comment, Shade was already bolting across the road toward the suspicious figure. The man quickly saw him and fled deeper into the dark alley. Shade gave chase chase, easily gaining distance due to his endurance and speed training. The mysterious man tripped over a grimy dustbin as he staggered through the filthy alley. Shade saw it coming and effortlessly used his advanced agility to leap on top of the fallen trash can. An average person would've lost their balance and hit the ground face-first. However, Shade was far from average. Using his momentum, he pivoted to the side and propelled himself off of the metal bin. Shade used the boost of speed to leap upward and grab the edge of the roof next to him. He pulled himself up onto the corrugated iron roof and quickly raced ahead of his target. The expression on the man's face was priceless as Shade dropped down in front of him. "Boo," Shade said, and took him out with a punch. Moments later the rest of the team arrived. "There was no need to hurry," growled Shade as Scope arrived. "I was just hanging out with my mate here." "Damn, Shade!" exclaimed Timer when he arrived, panting. "You didn't need and go kill him!" he yelled bending over his stomach which was highly unwise as the man puked all over him. Timer furiously glanced up, only to find that Shade was gone again. "Hey," chuckled Scope as he hi-fived the limp hand of the unconscious man. "Timer & Rapid, you guys go see if everybody's OK. Where did Shade go?.." "Right here, sir," said Shade from behind, suddenly reappearing. He was carrying three men and he dumped them next to the first one. "I found these in their backpacks," he commented, tossing a couple of grenades to Scope. "Help me tie them onto the roof of my car, we can question them later." "Your car?" asked Timer. "You took the bus!" In response, Shade pressed a button on a remote in his hand and a sleek black sedan pulled up alongside them. "I can remotely control it via satellite with this remote," Shade remarked proudly. "I'm gonna call an ambulance and the cops and then we can get back to HQ."
