Wolfgang Ernest I of Isenburg-Büdingen-Birstein (German: Wolfgang Ernst I. von Isenburg-Büdingen-Birstein]]) was the Count of Isenburg-Büdingen-Birstein from 1596 until 1628. Wolfgang Ernest is considered one of the wisest rulers of the House of Isenburg. He seized Isenburg-Rönneburg violently after its extinction with the death of Count Henry in 1601. After his death in 1628, his lands were partitioned between his sons.
