| - <default>Cut the Question</default> Description Appearance Availability Cut the Question is a lifeline which has appeared during special whiz kids weeks on the U.S. version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? since 2016. From 2016, a contestant was give one special lifeline which allowed them to cut the question original and move on to the next and final question. However, the money hidden behind the question will also be put out of play. The contestant's money would not be augmented to that question's value. For example, if a contestant has $100,000, and they cut the $100,000 question, they will still play for a question worth the $100,000 and move on to the $250,000 question. If they answer that correctly, their winnings will be increased from $100,000. Unlike other lifelines, this one could not used on the $1 million question, since it's the last question.
