In the strip from October 9, 1974, Snoopy appears wearing a hard hat, now identifying himself as the "World Famous Member of the Emergency Rescue Squad." As the piano floats downriver Snoopy begins to enter the water, but quickly turns back when he discovers that it is cold. On each occasion, Snoopy fails to retrieve the piano, and Schroeder is forced to order a replacement one.
