Alleya Vandaar was the mother of Jacen Vandaar and the wife of Marek Vandaar. She was born Alleya Mandata, but changed her last name when she married Marek. Alleya was a failed Jedi Padawan who grew to resent the Jedi and what they stood for. When she had her son, Jacen, she feared that one day, the Jedi would come for him. When that day finally came and Jedi Knight Alisia Varute requested permission to take him to the Jedi Temple, Alleya refused.

When that day finally came and Jedi Knight Alisia Varute requested permission to take him to the Jedi Temple, Alleya refused. Though the Jedi left, Marek wanted Jacen to go. This caused a massive rift between the two resulting in Alleya murdering her husband. When the Alisia Varute came back months later, she tried to help Jacen with the loss. In anger, she tried to kill the Jedi with mercenaries, but failed. Before dying, she admitted to killing her husband while her son secretly looked on.
