Selva de la Muerte ("Jungle of Death") is a jungle in Central Heredia, Costa Rica. It contained some ruins from the Mayan civilization, and was presumably the home to sloths. It was located cliffside, with portions of it being at the bottom of the cliff and another portion being at the top. In the early 1970s, the area was occupied by the CIA mercenary group Peace Sentinel, and was infiltrated by the Militaires Sans Frontières during the Peace Walker Incident.
