| - When Nerath the Conqueror and his wife Vzon'liuur had a child, the Tiefling nobility rejoiced. Here was a child with unimaginable power, a combination of 3 different infernal pacts and the innate power of the Drow. He would lead them to absolute power. Or so they thought. Nerath the Younger grew up watching his father butcher thousands and wage a massive war against the Lycari of the North. He saw the machines of war roll out from the Eladrin, saw rebellions quashed without mercy or pity by his father and his troops. So when Nerath was officially named heir to the Empire, it was a great surprise that he did not kill his father within the day. Instead, he waited patiently, sitting by the side for almost fifteen years before his father died of seemingly natural causes. At age forty, Nerath the Younger was Emperor of the Empire named for his father. He did not end his father's policies, even if he didn't follow his father's rise to power through assassination and patricide. Rebels were not necessarily killed, but they were punished harshly in prison camps. Eladrin were captured in war and brought to these same camps. Even some of his mother's politician enemies were placed there. Ten years after his anointment as Emperor, Nerath suddenly had all of his prisoners gathered together into one massive complex along the shoreline of the Serpent Sea. Once all of his prisoners were there, Nerath, accompanied by his still young Drow mother, performed a ritual of immense power and force, dwarfing even that of the Moonlight Curse. The ritual killed every living thing save Nerath and his mother, and turned him into a near demi-god. Each of his victims was drained of their life essence and Nerath added a small portion of it to himself. He was stronger, faster, and nigh invulnerable to all damage. The Godhead had been reborn. Whether the power made Nerath insane, or merely allow him to express his hidden insanity, the next two hundred years suffered under the tyranny of the Godhead. It was him to enslaved the Dwarves and destroyed their city, returning them to their oppressed state. It was Nerath the Godhead who personally slaughtered thousands of Eladrin. Is was by his command that hundreds of Dragonborn were destroyed in the Axplo Jungle. His insanity may have gone on for years if it were not for a young and ambitious nephew. Yuni Nerath, a child of one of the Godhead's bastard half-siblings, killed his uncle with a simple dagger to the heart. How he got past any defenses is still debated to this day, but the sacrifice of Yuni Nerath is welcomed by nearly all free folk.
