The Seattle Center Monorail was originally one of the attractions for the 1962 World's Fair. It was supposed to run all the way from the airport, but too many problems shortened it to a short 2 minute track running from downtown to the Seattle Center. It is not very practical to commute to work on the monorail due to its shortness, but it can be done. Most of the time though, the monorail is used as a tourist attraction or a medium of transportation if you are in Downtown and want to get to the Seattle Center or vice-versa.
