"Another aspect of skills is their versatility. Skills can be used for a variety of purposes. Prayer can boost one's attack, strength, drain opponent stats, or protect one from damage. Mining can be used to extract a variety of ores from rocks, mine pure essence, or mine crashed stars. Smithing can create weapons and armor. Agility boosts run energy everywhere. Dungeoneering itself, is good for just one: the ability to raid dungeons. While it is true that the rewards from Dungeoneering are versatile, Dungeoneering as a skill itself is completely useless in the RuneScape. It can't be used for anything outside Daemonheim. This is anther characteristic of a skill that Dungeoneering lacks."

We're obviously forgetting about those reward dungeons which give access to unique locations, handy at monsters that may be overcrowded.109.78.219.168 18:38, August 25, 2010 (UTC) It has many minigame characteristics, but it is still a skill. Just because its like a minigame doesnt mean it is one. ~ Personally, I see it as more of a minigame than a skill. Dungeoneering has a set of rewards that can be purchased with a currency earned by entering Daemonheim (and ONLY by entering Daemonheim), which is disturbingly similar to how minigames work. The rediculous time-consuming nature associated with getting those rewards also falls consistently within Jagex's standard minigame format (not to mention the fact that the level requirements to use the rewards are priced comically below what you will have actually reached when you can buy the item). Plus, even within Daemonheim, dungeoneering has very limited use, with nearly everything relying on pre-existing skills to set difficulty and requirements. Yes, there are bonus dungeons, but those are really just a gimmick. Almost any skill could have been used to give those dungeons a requirement. I.e. woodcutting to open up a doorway, mining to clear rubble, ranged to hit a target that opens the thing up, magic to enchant a door to open. See where I'm going here? Oh yeah, I've had such fun building oak larders in the Varrock Museum. 121.209.96.43 13:08, October 12, 2010 (UTC)
