The Pack Horse Restaurant was an up-market eatery where butcher Harold Dewhurst entertained Annie Walker in March 1971. Harold had called on Annie the week before to pay his respects following the death of fellow bowls club member Jack Walker the previous June. He asked Annie out and she agreed. When they arrived at the restaurant which Harold knew well, and as waiter Alfred took their order, Annie told Harold that her preferred cuisine was Spanish. After thoroughly enjoying their meal, Harold let Annie into a little secret: the chef at the Pack Horse was Carlos, a Spaniard, hence the reason she had found the food to be so agreeable.
