Jim Buck was the son of Joe Buck and Kelly Buck. When he was born in 1913, Jim and Kelly lived in 9 Coronation Street's front parlour. During the war, Kelly moved back to her family home in Collier Street with Jim and took a job as a conductress on the trams. When Joe was demobbed he discovered he'd been replaced at work and so he, Kelly and Jim moved to Canada for a new life there. Jim first appeared in Daran Little and Bill Hill's "Weatherfield Life", published in 1992. Other information is derived from Little's follow-up book, "Around the Coronation Street Houses".
