  • History file by Earthsphere Alliance, --- Hi guys, I wrote this a while back to explain the lead up to Beta War III as it still raged to some of my younger members. Please bear in mind it is from my personal prospective however I have researched and facts as best as I can. This has been taken from my prospective so don't expect it to be sunny and rosy to BORG --- In the early days of the Beta Server there was a single power block of alliances that dominated the landscape. This block became known as The Bloodpact by there use of these alliances to link themselves. Back then they were the only guilds to use this alliance. The Travellers [=T=], Of_BORG [BORG], The Imperium [IMP] and The Wing Commander veterians [WCV] where guilds transfered from the Alpha server which came to the beta server and since they were already established on Alpha they quickly grew in power. The first large war BETA saw was between these guilds and the guild's known as Sensus [3-S] and TSG [TSG] Long before the CABAL was formed Sensus fought back against BORG whom had attacked their worlds dozens of times. Sensus was out gunned but where soon joined by TSG whom had also suffered attacks. At this time the old Alpha grudges took hold. You see Sensus was made up of guild members from several guilds whom fought with IMP and BORG before. IMP and =T= (Whose involvement lasted only 24 hours) took this advantage to jump into the fight and out gunned five to one they fought for the best part of a month. By the end of this month Sensus and TSG where a shadow of their former selves, fleets and bases desimated aswell as countless members defected. Despite this one final card was to be played, a card that would resonate across the galaxy to this day and beyond. Following secret talks with several guilds and of =T= and IMP pulling out of the war it was back to the original fighters. With this in mind a new alliance of guilds would be formed from those whom BORG had attacked to show the server that we were willing to fight back. This alliance was named, CABAL. The alliance was formed by TSG, Sensus, The Vilani Empire [~VE~] and EME [EME].[1] It was later joined by The Crimson Mercenaries [[{CM}], Grey Swords [xGSx], The Hand of God [THoG] and The Underground Movement [TUM]. Soon after the war began it became clear that even this final card would not be enough to overwhelm BORG whom's ranks where swelling with new members as the CABAL suffered from bad coordination, mistakes and defections. One of the most infamous of these was when three of the five members of the Vilani Empires High Council defected to BORG giving tactical information and base locations. Despite the growing loses the CABAL guilds continued to battle against BORG but in the end we were forced to surrender. When IMP publicly stated they were considering entry into the conflict if we did not so there was nothing that could be done. CABAL was already outnumbered 3 to 1, with the entry of IMP it would be 6 to 1. It was decided to surrender to BORG but never forget the reason the CABAL was formed. In the days following the surrender the first stone was laid for the CABAL Brotherhood, a defensive alliance which never truly forgot its original purpose. This alliance was formed by ~VE~, 3-S, {CM}, THoG, TUM and TSG which was now known as Hertz [HWHz]. Following these events BORG continued their assaults on other guilds. Soon after the war with CABAL ended BORG, IMP and =T= declared war on the guilds known as MDAC. This was a union formed by The Evil Axis Alliance [EAA], Astroholics Aynomous [AA], Ranbow Lamas [RL] and Chaos. This was a swift war as The Bloodpact guilds attack immedately brought the surrender of the pacts leader EAA throwing its other members to the dogs. Following this conflict AA entered the bloodpact, and later petitioned and brought The Brotherhood [BROx] into the field. Now the Bloodpact consisted of BRO, AA, BORG, MORDOR, =T=, IMP and BLOOD. Further complaints where made about the continued attacks by BORG on guilds that couldn't defend themselves, complaints that fell on deaf ears. Now is when the tide begins to turn. The guild, The Hungerian Alliance [HUN] declared war on The Royal Flying Corp [RFC] in response to aggression against them. This continued for a week before BORG and MORDOR jointly declared war on HUN claiming that RFC where there friends despite there being no treaties between their guilds. This was not the first time they had claimed an invisible alliance, and was clearly an excuse to take down HUN for some free credits. Following this declaration of war IMP was placed in a bad position. They held a MDP with HUN, and BORG / MORDOR launched their attack on HUN without an explanation to their bloodpact partner. After consideration it was decided to make an ultimatum to BORG. Withdraw from the conflict or The Imperium would have no choice but to consider their Bloodpact annulled. BORG reacted badly, --- Borgs have no order to receive Borgs don t give order YOU HAVE ONE HOUR TO GET BACK YOUR ULTIMATUM BECAUSE WILL NOT ACCEPT IT A BLOOD PACT IS FIDELLITY IMP IS NOW A TARGET OF BORG ALL BORG HAVE ORDER TO ATTACK IMP --- Following this declaration AA declared war on IMP, HUN and Jedi Legacy [JEDI]. Later, The Galactic Empire [GE], The Blood Pact, Clan AEON and others did the same. Shadow Warriors [S-W], 13th Wolf guard [13th] and Chaos later joined the war on the side of IMP. In the background of this situation the CABAL Council met multiple times as to what we would do and how we would respond to the escalating situation. It was decided to sit the war out and 'Let the bullies fight it out'. Despite this decision BORG and BLOOD launched 5 separate unprovoked attacks on members of the CABAL and replied to demanded for compensation with calls of ]If you don't like it declare war!' So it was decided that the CABAL would march again. Five days after The Imperium entered the war The CABAL guilds posted their formal declaration and entered the conflict. Despite the high levels of pre-declaration planning HWhz withdraw their declaration from the treaty and referred to the CABAL as liars and that they and never agreed to enter the conflict. This was further compounded by confusion in the setting up of the temporary Cabal guild to fight the war. --- Two months ago the CABAL was formed to fight what many of us saw as the threat BORG was fast becoming. Eight small guilds united under the one flag for the purpose of protecting our worlds, which had suffered attacks from BORG drones time and time again. During this war we were denounced and ridiculed by many of the guilds that now find themselves fighting BORG. We were defeated, and forced to surrender to the collective. The CABAL has remained silent up to this point, although some of its members have spoken out. We wished only for peace however BORG has forced our hand. Since the advent of this conflict six separate attacks have been recorded against the CABAL. One of the members of the CABAL council has been KOS’ed [And later withdrawn] without cause and yet further attacks are threatened. Well the BORG have gotten their wish. As of this moment all forces of the CABAL declare war on the BORG collective, guilds taking part in this action are listed below. The Vilani Empire Sensus Hertz The Hands of God Crimson Mercenaries CABAL will not stand idly by as out members are attacked. To clarify this is a declaration on the BORG Collective ‘only’ and not on their allies. Earthsphere Alliance High Chancellor, The CABAL Alliance Prime Minister, ~VE~ --- Despite these draw backs CABAL stood the course until the war ended all of three days later. Now here is where things get alittle bit complicated so bare with me ^^ The Imperium was a guild that originated on Alpha server with an Imperator who controlled the guild, on both servers. The Imperator up to this point, Vladimir allowed the beta Imperium to run its own affairs with an Imperial regent on top. At this time Vladimir stepped down his replacement had other ideas of how the guild would be run. Ivan, the new Imperator wanted to take complete control of the Imperium on both servers and did so. On beta he was not an Imperium member but an outsider playing in the guild RFC the guild that started the whole war and which was currently fighting IMP. Ivan demanded an automatic cessation of hostilities as he began peace talks. As the Imperators word is law he was obeyed and returned twenty hours later to find that BORG and the other guilds involved in the conflict had not followed the same rules and had been hitting IMP whom where under orders not to fight back. Despite this and with growing discontent in the guild Ivan signed a peace treaty with BORG and the other guilds they were fighting to IMPs great loss and abandoning their allies on the battlefield. Less than 12 hours later there was an internal coup which overthrew Ivan and IMP beta secessed from IMP alpha. They returned to the war immediately. Seeing IMP struggle upon internal conflict =T= attempted to bring BORG to the negotiation table which failed. They watched one of their friends being destroyed by another and made the decision to enter the conflict on the side of the Imperium and cancelled their Bloodpact with BORG, shattering the Bloodpact into two. The shock of these events and the entering of more guilds whom saw the tide turning against BORG brought BORG to the negotiating table. It was three days later that a white peace was signed between all the guilds involved, however BORG specifically demanded that the CABAL guilds be omitted from the agreement as they 'betrayed their NAP with BORG'. =T= refused and agreed that no other guild would be leaving this war unless CABAL and all other guilds won both sides where accepted. Eventually the guns fell silent on Beta War II. In the weeks that followed the war there was a delicate peace that existed between those guilds involved in the second beta war. In this time IMP renamed themselves Legion [LGN] and strengthened ties with those guilds they had fought with in the previous war. Similarly =T= and 13th became closer and it seemed that BORG had given up on their old plans but it soon became clear that that was not the case. Two weeks after Beta War II three separate wars where declared in the one evening, three wars that we're clearly planned to separate the forces that fought together in the last war and beat them down. AA declared war on HUN and allies. MORDOR declared war on xGSx and BORG declared war on all of xGSx's allies. This most of the guilds that had fought in the last war, except 13th and =T=. BRO also sat on the sidelines ready to enter the conflict if any other guilds declared. The war raged on for two weeks before surrender was offered to the Bloodpact. At this point the whispers had already started. A week later information suggesting a planned attack on =T= and 13th came to light, this attack was to take place at first right after =T='s war with EAA when they would be at their weakest. This plan was cancelled at the last minute for unknown reasons however this was the last straw. Up to this point =T= still considered BORG friends but the clear attempts to split the forces that fought BORG and these planned attacks on 13th and =T= where the last straw. This information spread fast between allies and friends. This went on for several weeks in which development elsewhere in the universe took centre stage. Retro Astro Warriors [RAW] where at war with RL's, Southside Boys [SS] and Goa'uld [RL_GO], who guilds when combined where a fraction of their size. Deep into the war without any warning BROx declared war on RL, RL_GO and SS. Following both public and private demanded to remove themselves from the conflict from RAW BRO did so, and in frustration it would seem declared war on the four GOON guilds, with a fleet advantage of over 200 million. Elsewhere in the universe AA and BORG where in the final stages of their new assault on =T= and 13th, AA cancelled the attack for the moment and promptly used its Bloodpact with BRO to declare war on GOON for easy credits. =T= and 13th knew that the plan was to attack them when AA declared war on GOON. At this time 13th jumped the gun and declared war on AA hoping to catch them unaware. With this move BORG and seven other guilds declared war on 13th forcing =T=, LGN, HUN and S-Ws hand and forcing them to enter the war. It was at this time that the CABAL made its move. Both sides of the conflict continued to mount and fall until it reached it final conclusion a month and a half later. --- To all Galactic Citizens and Sentient Beings, Today, it is my sad duty to bring tidings of war to the Empire. Yesterday, the CABAL Council met for a three-hour long closed session, in which we spoke to Poitin of the Travellers [=T=]. During this discussion, it was decided that CABAL would join the current Galactic War on the side of the Travellers, the 13th Wolfguards, our allies the Legion, and other guilds against the menace of the AA/Borg/Zerg/Blood/[•Æon•]/RFC/Mordor coalition, referred henceforth as the Bloodpact. There were many reasons for this decision. As many of you know, CABAL was originally formed to fight the Borg menace, which was responsible for widespread piracy and aggression against our allies and ourselves. We sought to show the Borg the foolishness of their ways, and get them to change their policies of aggression. Unfortunately, we were severely outnumbered and outgunned. We were unable to get the Borg to change their ways, and they have continued their acts of piracy and aggression up until this very day, against many small guilds and independents. Their last war, against our former allies the Grey Swords, proved that the Bloodpact will attack and seek to destroy any guild or alliance of guilds which comes even close to threatening their dominance of the astropolitic in the Betaverse. They would surely seek to divide and conquer every guild in this game, which is why AA and BRO have attempted to destroy the GOON guilds. They also persistently farm and destroy many smaller guilds, who are below the 50th guild rank. It has come to the attention of CABAL that, even while they were fighting 13th and =T=, the Bloodpact were plotting to have their allies, The Spartan Empire [Myrm], launch an attack against the CABAL. At the last minute, they decided to instead join the current war on the side of the Bloodpact, for they were not doing as well as they’d hoped. The plan to attack the CABAL was postponed to a later time, when they would be in a better position to receive support from their allies. At this same time, a spy was discovered, isolated and removed from our allies, the Legion [LGN]. Mere hours after being discovered, this spy proved his loyalties by joining a Bloodpact member. The final factor involved in the upcoming declaration of war was a debt owed to the Travellers and the 13th Wolfguards from our last great war against the Bloodpact. The Bloodpact had threatened to keep CABAL permanently KOS’d, never letting us have peace until we were destroyed. Thankfully, the Travellers and 13th Wolfguards chose not to abandon us to this fate, and pledged that they would not sign a peace treaty unless all guilds fighting at the time were included in it. Because of this, we were able to achieve a white peace with the Bloodpact, despite our heavy losses. If it weren’t for the help of 13th and =T=, the CABAL may not have survived. So now the time has come for the CABAL to raise arms against the Bloodpact to stop their reign of terror over the Betaverse! As of Server Time: 17-04-2007 19:00:00, the CABAL hereby declares war against the Bloodpact members of Mordor, RFC, and [•Æon•]. [~VE~] The Vilani Empire and [ThoG] The Hand of God also declare war on Zerg, whom the other CABAL members have an NDP with. We fight so that chaos, piracy and terror shall NOT rule the Betaverse. To honor, to glory, to victory! Long live the CABAL! Long live Ziru Sirka! Signed, Lucan Ziirushid XII of Vland Emperor of the Vilani Empire --- In addition to the effects on the Bloodpact side of the conflict other guilds have been effected, the splitting of Something Awful Swarm [SAS] from the GOON collective and siding with the Bloodpact worked to lengthen the war by several weeks and the sessation of BRO2 form the BROTHERHOOD (Now known as OMEGA) has left all of the old power blocks (GOON, BROTHERHOOD and Bloodpact) split. Now at the finish line the Bloodpact is split, its fleets heavily damaged and its members scattered. Time will tell if this truly is the end of the Bloodpact but what we can be sure of is that there is no longer a single power block in the universe. [/End]
