The Bader-class was a type of scout in Starfleet service in the 23rd century. The Bader-class was one of many scout and research ships that were designed in the 2260s in the wake of the Organian Peace Treaty, but the Bader-class became one of the most famous designs. Although designated a scout, this class was equipped with all the equipment and facilities of a research vessel. Indeed, the Bader-class was the most extensive scout and research vessel in service to Starfleet until the arrival of the Gagarin-class.
